Within my practice buildings and places that have existed for decades tell stories.
Image reproduction, memory, and the spaces I inhabit serve as an archive. Radical restoration techniques such as strappo, painting and sculpture deeply inform my
process too—echoing in my work and combining into large-scale installations.
Recently, I’ve begun incorporating fictional narratives, sound, and non-visible
materials such as UV pigments. These mediums are intertwined, and allow me to
develop a visual language to reimagine spatial memories. Often, it is my body that determines the scale of the work, but emerges is fragmented, truncated, yet ‘whole’.
Preservation is a continuation of materials—an act of care that navigates the
complexities of reproduction in today’s shifting realities.
To me it is a form of resilience.
