The body of work by Giorgia Lo Faso (b.1993, Italy) moves between, images, debris, sculpture, installation, and preservation techniques. Particularly she is interested in the visual possibilities that mediums and languages can generate, especially in the discourse of painting.
 

Lo Faso holds a BA and an MA in Graphic and Chalcographic Techniques from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, Italy 2017 and 2019, resp., and obtained her MA Fine Arts at the HKU, University of the Arts Utrecht, the Netherlands (2022).

Spray paint on puddles

My interest in painting began when I noticed how many puddles appear when it rains.
                                                                🌧  🌧
At that time, I lived in social housing near my former apartment. During the rainy season, I started to think about watercolor painting. I bought some acrylic spray the same day. Because of this, I thought a lot about both mediums and the water itself as a medium with its precariousness and fierce acceptance of becoming a trace.

After a few hours I returned to the puddles. All the water evaporated.
